Director of Technology, Experiences
Lead technology strategy, architecture and data platforms across Moonpig Group’s Buyagift and Red Letter Days marketplace. Guide engineering, data and cross-functional teams through platform transformation.

- Set the long-term technology strategy for the Experiences business, tying investment to commercial goals.
- Assess the technology estate and identify platforms to modernise, simplify, replace or retain.
- Evaluate the partner platform and recommend approaches to architecture, data, migration, sequencing, investment, organisational capability, risk and business outcomes.
- Direct platform transformation when replatforming is the right approach.
- Shape technology for partner content, product and catalogue data, merchant onboarding, operations, consumer shopping, voucher fulfilment, redemption and exchanges.
- Lead the Experiences Data Platform.
- Set the direction for data architecture in coordination with application architecture.
- Work with the General Manager and Experiences Leadership Team on strategic business decisions.
- Turn complex technical, architectural and delivery issues into recommendations for senior stakeholders.
- Coordinate with Product, Engineering, Data, Security and Platform leaders across Moonpig Group.
- Manage two cross-functional squads and the Experiences Data Platform team.
- Build engineering and data leadership capability.
- Report to the Group Chief Product & Technology Officer and work closely with the General Manager, Experiences.

- Strong technical credibility in modern software architecture, platforms and engineering.
- Solid knowledge of data architecture and modern data platforms.
- Track record leading platform modernisation, replatforming or large-scale technology transformation in commercial settings.
- Ability to assess architecture and engineering choices while balancing technical debt, investment and long-term business priorities.
- Experience leading or closely partnering with Data Engineering teams.
- Understanding of how application and data architecture combine to support business growth.
- Commercial perspective and ability to connect technology choices to customer and business outcomes.
- Confidence working with senior executives and shaping strategic decisions.
- Excellent communication skills, including explaining complex technology challenges to varied stakeholders.
- Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and developing future technology leaders.
- Strong product and customer judgement, with an understanding of how technology, operating models and customer propositions interact.
- Ability to work in lean environments where prioritisation, pragmatism and sound judgement matter.
- Marketplace, ecommerce, partner ecosystem, voucher business or complex retail integration experience is beneficial.
