Design and analyze primary and secondary structures for Blue Origin’s reusable New Glenn orbital launch vehicle. Support production, integration, quality, and mission operations.

Tavsif

  • Design and assess primary and secondary structures, including composite and metallic parts and integrated assemblies
  • Coordinate structural interfaces with subsystem teams
  • Provide on-site manufacturing and production support, with travel as required
  • Maintain production quality and resolve hardware nonconformances
  • Support configuration development and engineering trade studies
  • Review analyses for designers and junior analysts covering stress, stability, fracture, and standard methods
  • Work with cross-functional teams to select aerospace materials, manufacturing processes, and suppliers
  • Advance enterprise analysis capabilities through automation for model creation, strength checks, and report generation
  • Track and communicate schedules, budgets, and technical progress
  • Mentor and support junior engineers
  • Find opportunities to improve operations and reduce costs
  • Contribute to the development and operation of the reusable New Glenn heavy-lift orbital launch vehicle

Talablar

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering and at least seven years of related experience
  • Background designing metallic structures and assemblies for launch vehicles, aircraft, or comparable applications, including load-path distribution, preliminary strength assessment, and sizing
  • Expertise in structural analysis using classical hand calculations and finite element analysis
  • Knowledge of material selection, compatibility, and manufacturing methods
  • Advanced knowledge of finite element modeling, including boundary conditions, bolted joints, contact, and verification techniques
  • Strong mechanical design capability with commercial CAD tools such as Creo
  • Proficiency in creating and interpreting Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing analyses under ASME Y14.5
  • U.S. citizenship or nationality, U.S. permanent residence, or lawful admission as a refugee or asylee is required
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build consensus preferred
  • Advanced engineering degree preferred
  • Experience with Ansys, Nastran, Optistruct, LS-DYNA, HyperMesh, or HyperSizer preferred
  • Experience developing production manufacturing processes and designing for manufacturability preferred
  • Knowledge of systems engineering, fabrication and integration, and quality-control practices preferred
  • Successful completion of applicable background checks
