Descriere
- Build and operate infrastructure for training and serving Etsy’s machine learning models.
- Architect fast, reliable serving systems capable of millions of inferences per second.
- Write production-grade Python code.
- Take part in code reviews and pair programming.
- Help shape architectural decisions.
- Build and improve machine learning infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform and Kubernetes.
- Design and maintain serving systems for open-source and internally hosted LLMs.
- Manage model deployments and resources, and optimize performance.
- Work with Applied Scientists to understand training and serving needs.
- Turn model requirements into infrastructure that simplifies workflows.
- Contribute to system design decisions that balance performance, cost, and reliability.
- Use generative AI and productivity tools thoughtfully.
- Report to the Engineering Manager.
Cerințe
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, applied statistics, mathematics, electrical engineering, or a related quantitative field, or equivalent professional experience.
- At least five years of professional experience building, refining, and troubleshooting complex backend and infrastructure systems.
- Strong software engineering fundamentals, including algorithms and data structures.
- Production-ready Python skills.
- Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure, preferably Google Cloud, and Kubernetes.
- Experience deploying and operating production workloads.
- Familiarity with observability tools for metrics, logging, and tracing.
- Working knowledge of machine learning fundamentals and concepts.
- Awareness of LLM serving infrastructure and open-source model hosting.
- Basic understanding of transformer architectures, predictors, and how model design choices affect serving infrastructure.
- Comfort designing large-scale, highly available systems.
- Ability to commute to Etsy’s Brooklyn office or travel there occasionally if working remotely.
