Descriere

  • Lead accounting operations, financial reporting, internal controls, audit coordination, regulatory compliance, and U.S. tax activities
  • Work with the Canadian Financial Controller to maintain accurate financial information and compliance with U.S. GAAP and applicable regulations
  • Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes
  • Prepare and review financial statements under U.S. GAAP and company policies
  • Maintain the accuracy and completeness of general ledger activity, reconciliations, accruals, and journal entries
  • Establish and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
  • Interpret financial results and explain variances, trends, and key performance indicators
  • Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial planning
  • Act as the primary auditor contact and coordinate audits and reviews
  • Coordinate audit requests and supporting documentation
  • Track and resolve audit findings and control deficiencies
  • Maintain documentation and evidence supporting compliance
  • Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local financial reporting requirements
  • Monitor accounting standards and regulatory developments and evaluate their business impact
  • Oversee statutory records and regulatory filings
  • Manage U.S. federal, state, and local tax compliance processes and filings
  • Work with external tax advisors on tax reporting and planning
  • Ensure accurate tax accounting, provisions, and supporting schedules
  • Assist with tax audits and regulatory inquiries
  • Develop the U.S. team to support business growth
  • Lead, coach, and develop accounting and finance professionals
  • Advise business leaders on financial matters and support decision-making
  • Advance process improvements, automation, and finance best practices
  • Contribute to special projects as needed

Cerințe

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field required
  • CPA designation strongly preferred
  • Master’s degree in accounting, finance, or business administration is a plus
  • At least eight years of progressive accounting and finance experience
  • At least three years of experience leading accounting or finance teams
  • Demonstrated experience in financial reporting, external audits, and regulatory compliance
  • Experience managing U.S. tax compliance and partnering with external tax advisors
  • Experience in a multi-entity or complex business environment preferred
  • Public accounting experience is desirable
  • Advanced knowledge of U.S. GAAP
  • Strong understanding of internal controls and audit requirements
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local tax regulations
  • Experience with ERP systems; Vista by Viewpoint preferred
  • Advanced Excel and financial analysis skills
  • Experience with financial reporting and consolidation systems preferred
  • Strong leadership and people management capabilities
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • High integrity, professionalism, and accountability
  • Ability to collaborate across functions and with senior leadership
