Descriere

  • Operate Air Methods aircraft safely and in compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Inspect aircraft before flights and confirm each is airworthy.
  • Walk around the aircraft before entering the cockpit and after every flight.
  • Hold final authority for aircraft operations and the safety of passengers, cargo, and equipment.
  • Learn the aircraft and medical systems on backup aircraft used in the operational area.
  • Make sure the medical flight team is comfortable with the medical interior and its systems.
  • Complete all required records and forms.
  • Prepare detailed flight plans to exacting standards, often at short notice.
  • Take part regularly in company meetings, activities, projects, committees, and community outreach.
  • Carry out other duties as assigned.

Cerințe

  • Associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, plus two to five years of related experience or training; an equivalent combination of education and experience is also accepted.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Must weigh no more than 250 pounds.
  • Must be under 70 years of age.
  • Must have flown in category within the previous 24 months.
  • At least 2,000 total flight hours, including at least 1,500 hours in category.
  • At least 1,000 hours as pilot in command (PIC) in category.
  • At least 500 hours in rotor-wing turbine aircraft.
  • At least 200 hours of cross-country flight time, including at least 50 hours at night.
  • At least 100 hours of unaided night PIC time. Up to 50 hours may be replaced by 100 hours of night-vision-goggle (NVG) time; at least 50 hours must be unaided.
  • At least 50 hours of actual or hood instrument flight time in category.
  • Instrument rating for the aircraft category and class; an Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) rating in category also satisfies this requirement.
  • For twin-engine aircraft, a fixed-wing multiengine rating is required.
  • For single-engine aircraft, a commercial single-engine land rating is required.
  • Current FAA First or Second Class Medical Certificate required.
  • Strong knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR), the Aeronautical Information Manual (AIM), General Operations Manual (GOM) guidelines, and Air Methods policies and procedures.
  • Mountain flying experience preferred.
