KONE Contract Specialist, Hybrid Illinois
KONE is seeking a Contract Specialist in Illinois to manage high-risk commercial agreements across construction, modernization, service, and repair work. The role focuses on contract review, negotiation, compliance, and practical risk mitigation with limited attorney involvement.
Descriere
- Review and negotiate construction, modernization, service, and repair contracts with minimal supervision
- Protect KONE’s business interests and reputation while supporting compliance with applicable laws and regulations
- Strengthen Contract Management capabilities by handling high-risk, high-exposure agreements with limited attorney involvement
- Support branches in evaluating terms, clarifications, and compliance obligations before and during bidding or contracting
- Research statutory and common-law legal issues
- Act as the Law Department’s primary contracts contact
- Advise branches on incomplete or inaccurate order entry
- Assess customer responses to Riders and Addenda against KONE acceptance guidelines
- Negotiate contractually required insurance coverage and bonds
- Escalate needs for work-instruction updates, training, or scheduling and process improvements
Cerințe
- At least five years of experience working with high-profile, high-exposure contracts
- Bachelor’s degree, paralegal certification, JD, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant contract management experience
- At least five years of experience managing complex commercial contracts
- Ability to identify contractual risks and recommend practical mitigation strategies
- Exceptional organization, prioritization, and follow-through
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple contracts while meeting deadlines
- Strong issue-spotting, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Customer-focused approach with the ability to build effective business-partner relationships
- High standards of ethics and confidentiality
- Experience using a Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) platform or comparable contract management system
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and PowerPoint
- Experience with DocuSign, Cobblestone, and Adobe Acrobat Pro
- Ability to use technology to improve contract review, document management, and workflow efficiency
- Familiarity with AI-assisted contract review or legal technology tools is helpful but not required
