Descriere

  • Create, maintain, and troubleshoot gameplay architecture and player-experience systems
  • Build and debug game AI systems covering NPC behavior, navigation, decision-making, and encounter integration
  • Profile and optimize gameplay and AI performance using CPU and memory budgets, time-slicing, and behavioral LOD
  • Partner with Level Design, Game Design, Art, VFX, Programming, and QA on requirements, feasibility, scope, completeness, and technical risks
  • Refine gameplay and AI features through data-driven tuning, in-game debugging tools, and validation
  • Recommend maintainable technical solutions for live-production support
  • Map cross-team dependencies across systems and features, coordinating with Production and relevant disciplines
  • Adapt feature polish to the project phase and defined quality targets
  • Apply findings from QA testing and playtests
  • Contribute to code reviews and technical validation at gameplay and AI milestones
  • Champion code quality and mentor teammates in gameplay and AI development practices
  • Create technical documentation, architecture notes, and content-integration guidance
  • Track developments in the engine and evolving gameplay and AI practices
  • Promote sound engineering practices and continuous improvement in high-performance software

Cerințe

  • Bring at least eight years of C++ programming experience in the video game industry
  • Have contributed to at least two AAA titles, including one released for console or PC
  • Demonstrate strong command of C++ fundamentals, including object-oriented design, data structures, algorithms, templates, and multithreading
  • Bring substantial experience designing gameplay and AI software architecture
  • Have delivered large-scale programming for console and PC across the full product cycle, including post-launch DLC and title updates
  • Use strong optimization and debugging techniques on PC and console platforms
  • Apply advanced 3D mathematics, including linear algebra, trigonometry, vectors, matrices, and quaternions
  • Understand the technical constraints associated with animation
  • Use Unreal Engine 5 for gameplay and AI integration, including the gameplay framework, State Trees, EQS, navigation, and gameplay feature integration
  • Know Perforce, JIRA, and bug-tracking tools
  • Communicate clearly in writing and conversation with design and programming teams
  • Approach complex problems and troubleshooting methodically
  • Prioritize work with Production while managing execution independently
  • Move ambiguous technical subjects forward in partnership with Design and Production
  • Guide less experienced teammates and collaborate with internal and external contributors
  • Show genuine enthusiasm for video games
