Senior Azure DevOps Engineer

Encoura is seeking a Senior Azure DevOps Engineer to design, automate, and scale cloud infrastructure supporting higher-education technology systems. The role focuses on Azure operations, Terraform infrastructure, reliability, security, and production support.

  • Enhance Encoura’s Azure environment through processes and systems for monitoring, optimization, automation, data maintenance, and security tooling
  • Build and administer infrastructure with Terraform
  • Support Azure-hosted applications in day-to-day operations
  • Move development projects into production and test Azure environments and provide continued support
  • Drive security, reliability, and scalability across the development lifecycle
  • Advise on solution design and Azure architecture options
  • Develop working knowledge of supported applications and troubleshoot the product stack
  • Create engineering automation and productivity tools that streamline and scale production applications
  • Investigate and resolve application development, deployment, and operational problems
  • Design and deliver reliable, highly scalable Azure infrastructure services
  • Participate in on-call coverage as an escalation point for critical production incidents
  • Partner with development teams to establish technology stacks, improve systems, and diagnose operational issues
  • Create strategic roadmaps covering architecture, operations, and capabilities
  • Pursue ongoing Azure education and certifications and share relevant knowledge with development teams

Prasības

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or an equivalent discipline; alternatively, a bachelor’s degree in another field plus at least 5 years of professional experience
  • At least 5 years of DevOps experience
  • At least 3 years working with core Azure services
  • Experience installing, configuring, and managing database platforms and Azure-managed database services, including Azure SQL Database, Azure Database for PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server, and MongoDB Atlas
  • Proficiency with Terraform, Azure Bicep, and Azure Resource Manager templates
  • Strong knowledge of Azure billing and cost modeling
  • Experience with build and release automation tools and practices
  • Ability to design, deploy, monitor, and manage Kubernetes-based systems
  • Understanding of microservice architecture and its implementation in Azure
  • Infrastructure as Code experience, including leading the transition from manual Azure management
  • Strong scripting and automation capabilities
  • Ability to use AI tools to evaluate ideas, verify work, and support task automation
  • Hands-on experience troubleshooting, securing, and improving manually configured Azure environments
  • Experience with application performance monitoring and large-scale log aggregation
  • Experience supporting application development teams working with Agile, Scrum, or Kanban
  • CLEAR™ identity verification is required during pre-employment screening
  • TeamCity experience is preferred but not required
  • Multi-cloud operations experience across AWS and Azure is preferred
  • Current, relevant Azure cloud certifications are preferred
