Federal Workers' Compensation Claims Examiner - Atlanta Onsite

AIG is seeking a Claims Examiner to manage Defense Base Act and Federal Workers’ Compensation claims in an onsite Atlanta role. The position covers claim evaluation, settlement, litigation, stakeholder coordination, and customer service.

Apraksts

  • Direct and resolve Defense Base Act claims in line with established practices and AIG quality standards
  • Manage the indemnity, medical, and legal components of assigned claims
  • Investigate, litigate, and evaluate claims to support timely, cost-effective settlements and preserve recovery rights where applicable
  • Deliver responsive, effective customer service
  • Identify and assess potentially suspect or fraudulent claims according to company guidelines
  • Maintain regular communication with internal stakeholders, brokers, medical specialists, client attorneys, injured workers, and legal representatives
  • Develop strong internal and external relationships while serving as a referral resource
  • Use claims expertise to support product improvements with underwriting colleagues

Prasības

  • Understanding of the legal, regulatory, litigation, and procedural requirements governing Workers’ Compensation claims
  • Specialized Defense Base Act claims knowledge is preferred
  • Experience evaluating and negotiating settlements
  • Ability to interpret policy wording accurately and consistently
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Capacity to develop ideas that improve working practices
  • Effective communication, time management, administration, and report-writing skills
