Senior Lead Unity Developer

  • Take over client engineering leadership from the original developers and guide the team’s work.
  • Own the game architecture and SDK and platform integrations.
  • Plan and estimate updates with the producer.
  • Establish development pipelines, tools, and telemetry.
  • Oversee client features that connect to backend systems, including asynchronous multiplayer.
  • Review code and mentor team members.
  • Lead game design, implementation, testing, and debugging.
  • Coordinate the development schedule and communication with other teams.
  • Estimate task timelines and prepare technical design documents.
  • Help the producer shape the game’s future direction.
  • Deliver the post-launch roadmap, including social features, asynchronous multiplayer, themed updates, and later multiplayer across households.

Талаптар

  • At least five years of experience developing games with Unity.
  • Previous experience leading a team of more than six developers.
  • Experience leading development of at least one large game title from start to finish.
  • Enthusiasm for video games.
  • Able to overlap daily working hours with Helsinki (EET/EEST).
  • Shipped client engineering work on a multiplayer, party, casual, or two-screen game; live operations experience on a released title is a strong advantage.
  • Strong Unity skills and delivery experience across several titles.
  • Excellent software architecture skills.
  • Able to mentor junior and mid-level developers.
  • Familiarity with performance bottlenecks, multithreading, operating system concepts, and optimization techniques.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong reporting and documentation skills.
  • Adaptable to project needs and changes in technology.
  • Able to design and estimate backend-connected client features such as asynchronous multiplayer, persistent state, leaderboards, and session synchronization.
  • Live operations delivery experience, including data-driven content pipelines, seasonal content, and rapid replanning based on player feedback and live KPIs.
  • Very strong debugging skills.
  • Experience with word, puzzle, party, or board games.
  • Experience with React, TypeScript, or React Three Fiber for controller-side development.
  • Experience with cloud-streamed or TV-based game platforms.
  • A solid technical background, such as a degree in computer science or mathematics, or equivalent experience.
