Workers' Compensation Claims Examiner (Hybrid)

Description

  • Oversee an assigned desk and manage a workers’ compensation caseload with efficiency and professionalism.
  • Investigate coverage, liability, and claim exposure to support well-founded decisions.
  • Assess financial exposure and keep reserves accurate and current.
  • Direct litigation matters and collaborate with defense counsel.
  • Review settlement opportunities and negotiate outcomes with claimants and their attorneys.
  • Track medical treatment and guide claims through each stage of progression.
  • Keep claim records complete, accurate, and well organized in the claims system.
  • Verify that claim payments are issued correctly and without delay.
  • Advance claim resolution in a timely manner while meeting compliance requirements.
  • Maintain clear communication with employers, injured workers, attorneys, medical providers, and clients throughout the process.
  • Complete required training and stay current on the workers’ compensation statutes applicable to assigned states.
  • Take on other duties and projects as needed.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience handling lost-time workers’ compensation claims.
  • Experience with workers’ compensation claims in Georgia is required.
  • Experience handling workers’ compensation claims in Alabama is preferred.
  • Background in litigation management and settlement negotiation is beneficial.
  • Able to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced work setting.
  • Uses analytical judgment, careful attention to detail, and sound decision-making.
  • Communicates clearly in both writing and conversation.
  • Can work independently while contributing effectively to a team.
  • Brings a professional, customer-focused approach to interactions with clients and claimants.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and able to learn additional systems.
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Adjuster licensing is beneficial, or must be obtainable where required.
  • Willing to work on-site as needed to support collaboration, team leadership, and cross-functional partnerships.
