Senior System Software Engineer, Agentic Retrieval at NVIDIA (Remote)

NVIDIA is hiring a senior system software engineer to build Rust and Python pipelines for GPU-accelerated agentic retrieval and LLM workflows. The role focuses on multimodal data systems, language-model tooling, and generative AI productivity products.

Description

  • Create and optimize Rust data-processing frameworks for large datasets in GPU-accelerated environments that support LLM training.
  • Lead the development and ongoing optimization of agentic retrieval pipeline components, including GPU acceleration and model performance.
  • Partner with LLM and machine learning researchers on full-stack, GPU-accelerated data preparation pipelines for multimodal models.
  • Benchmark, profile, and improve Python algorithms across system architectures for LLM applications.
  • Translate requirements into proofs of concept, evaluate results, and define roadmaps for production tools and library capabilities.
  • Develop generative AI and copilot products that enhance employee productivity.
  • Build integrated systems that provide consistent experiences across applications and end-to-end user insights.
  • Help develop and maintain continuous delivery pipelines that enable faster, safer production releases.
  • Review peers’ work for performance, scalability, and correctness while contributing to frameworks, standards, and technology adoption.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • At least six years of experience in a similar or related role.
  • Professional experience delivering cloud-based software and familiarity with cloud infrastructure management.
  • Knowledge of MLOps technologies, including Docker Compose, containers, Kubernetes, and data center deployments.
  • Deep hands-on knowledge of NLP, LLM, VLM, generative AI, and agentic retrieval workflows.
  • A strong commitment to professional growth, continuous learning, and sharing discoveries with teammates.
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to explain complex topics clearly and concisely.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, principals, and architects across organizational boundaries and geographies.
