Senior Railway Interior Design Engineer - Capgemini Remote Spain
Senior engineer responsible for designing and integrating railway interiors at Capgemini Engineering. The role involves coordinating technical teams, developing 3D CAD models, and managing PLM/PDM documentation.
Description
- Lead the design and development of railway interior systems using 3D CAD tools
- Coordinate technical teams by planning activities and allocating workloads
- Technically supervise and review designs produced by other team members
- Validate 3D models, manufacturing drawings, and related technical documentation for interior work packages
- Manage project technical information and documentation in PLM and PDM environments
- Coordinate the development and integration of interior components to meet functional, regulatory, and manufacturing requirements
- Serve as the technical liaison for the project’s participating areas
- Identify technical risks and propose actions to limit quality, schedule, and cost deviations
- Drive continuous-improvement initiatives covering design processes, document management, and working methods
Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field
- At least 8 years of experience designing railway interiors
- Demonstrable experience with underfloor structures, floors, linings, and stairs
- Demonstrable experience with interior panelling
- Demonstrable experience with seats and tables
- Demonstrable experience with luggage racks and storage components
- Demonstrable experience with insulation systems
- Demonstrable experience with auxiliary devices and interior equipment
- Demonstrable experience with air distribution, collection, and exhaust systems
- Demonstrable experience with restroom modules
- Demonstrable experience with water tanks and associated accessories
- Advanced proficiency in CATIA V5
- Experience working in CATIA 3DEXPERIENCE (3DX) environments
- Experience managing documentation and configuration through PLM/PDM tools
- Experience estimating workloads and planning technical activities
- Ability to coordinate teams and technically supervise engineering deliverables
- Minimum English level of B2
- International high-complexity railway project experience is valued
- Knowledge of manufacturing and industrialization processes for rolling stock is valued
- Knowledge of multidisciplinary integration in concurrent engineering environments is valued
- Certifications in mechanical design, project management, or engineering methodologies are valued
