Description

  • Develop quality system processes for programs and projects while supporting product quality improvements
  • Create, maintain, and deploy quality plans that translate customer requirements into actionable activities
  • Lead engineers, technicians, and inspectors supporting customer programs and projects
  • Drive process and product improvements across multiple functional disciplines
  • Analyze program requirements and prepare quality plans, procedures, schedules, and resource allocations
  • Review and approve engineering, test, and contractor documentation
  • Develop and implement quality system processes, procedures, and work instructions
  • Collect, organize, monitor, analyze, and report product and process data
  • Conduct internal audits and verify implementation of root-cause corrective actions
  • Lead product quality improvement teams, Material Review Boards, and Failure Review Boards
  • Evaluate and disposition nonconforming material
  • Provide technical support to assembly, test, and inspection personnel on workmanship plans, inspection methods, sampling plans, specifications, and nonconforming material
  • Work with customers and senior management to resolve quality issues and drive root-cause corrective action
  • Develop and deploy statistical process control initiatives internally and with suppliers
  • Evaluate supplier selections and lead continuous-improvement efforts, including on-site audits and supplier corrective actions
  • Lead and execute customer quality program requirements
  • Monitor development activities for contract compliance
  • Establish procedural controls for quality programs
  • Produce statistical reports on inspections and product or process testing, then recommend actions
  • Establish programs to assess the precision and accuracy of production, processing, testing, measurement, and analytical equipment
  • Prepare quality engineering reports and recommendations
  • Monitor and mentor junior quality engineers
  • Provide regular progress and status updates
  • Participate in customer, business, and program meetings
  • Complete assigned work on schedule while meeting technical requirements

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent experience
  • At least five years of professional experience
  • Strong technical expertise and knowledge of the relevant application domain
  • ASQ certification or Black Belt credential preferred
  • Proficiency with ISO standards, Six Sigma tools, and statistical methods
  • Ability to interpret military specifications and engineering blueprints
  • Strong interpersonal, negotiation, communication, and writing skills
  • Ability to define problems, identify root causes, and drive effective corrective action
  • Knowledge of commercial aviation preferred
  • U.S. citizenship required
  • Active Department of Defense security clearance or ability to obtain one within a reasonable period after employment begins
