Senior Product Manager, Billing Engine and Monetization – GitLab UK Remote

Lead GitLab’s metering, rating, and usage billing platform for credit-based monetization across its DevSecOps products and deployment models.

Description

  • Set product direction for metering, aggregation, and rating within GitLab’s usage billing pipeline
  • Manage Zuora and CustomersDot integrations that convert usage into invoiced revenue
  • Create a repeatable process for onboarding capabilities that consume credits
  • Partner with product teams on instrumentation, usage metering, pricing, and launch-day billability across GitLab.com, self-managed, and GitLab Dedicated
  • Prioritize pipeline scalability, performance, and reliability as new capabilities are enabled
  • Lead billing defect detection and remediation before errors reach customer invoices
  • Help the Monetization Platform and Infrastructure team define problems and prioritize platform investments based on operational risk
  • Establish and monitor metrics for billing accuracy, pipeline reliability, cost to serve, and time to monetize

Requirements

  • Experience setting product direction for consumption- or usage-based billing systems
  • Experience with Zuora or a comparable billing and revenue platform
  • Understanding of interactions between product and finance systems
  • Experience with prepaid, commitment, or credit-drawdown pricing models, including balances, reservations, overage, and expiration
  • Experience launching products or pricing models while coordinating engineering, Finance, Legal, Compliance, and go-to-market teams
  • Ability to align teams without direct management responsibility
  • Experience defining problems for platform or backend teams
  • Strong written communication skills in an all-remote, asynchronous environment
  • Ability to lead through issues, epics, and direction pages
  • Familiarity with developer tooling, financial audit or revenue recognition, or an engineering background is helpful but not required
  • Experience using AI tools for prototyping, analysis, specification writing, and investigation
