Senior NDT Quality Engineer

Lead quality engineering across Carestream Health’s NDT manufacturing operations, overseeing quality systems and process controls. Drive audits, investigations, corrective actions, validation, and product quality improvements.

Description

  • Serve as the quality subject matter expert for NDT manufacturing operations.
  • Provide hands-on quality engineering support and lead quality activities across electromechanical assembly, testing, inspection, packaging, and service.
  • Ensure products and processes meet approved specifications and quality requirements.
  • Initiate, conduct, lead, or facilitate investigations into manufacturing defects, nonconforming materials, supplier issues, service failures, and customer complaints.
  • Apply structured root-cause analysis, risk assessment, and corrective and preventive action methods.
  • Monitor and analyze supplier quality, product performance, and CAPA data.
  • Apply statistical methods and key metrics to identify trends, reduce defects, and improve process capability and product quality.
  • Develop and maintain control and inspection plans, sampling methods, acceptance criteria, quality procedures, work instructions, investigation reports, and other controlled quality records.
  • Plan, review, and execute qualification, manufacturing validation, measurement-system, and change-control activities.
  • Conduct internal, external, customer, and regulatory audits.
  • Partner with Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Engineering to improve product quality and operational performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field, such as mechanical, electrical, industrial, manufacturing, or biomedical engineering, or a related discipline.
  • At least seven years of quality engineering experience.
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001.
  • Experience applying quality-system, documentation, risk-management, and regulatory requirements in manufacturing.
  • Experience investigating product and process nonconformities.
  • Experience leading structured root-cause analysis.
  • Experience implementing lasting corrective and preventive actions.
  • Experience analyzing manufacturing data.
  • Experience developing process controls, inspection plans, acceptance criteria, validation documentation, or other manufacturing quality records.
  • Strong analytical, project-management, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Supplier qualification, supplier audits, supplier corrective actions, statistical-analysis software, ERP systems, or electronic quality-management systems experience is desired.
  • Experience in diagnostic equipment, radiographic imaging, or another regulated manufacturing setting is desired.
  • Experience supporting electromechanical assembly, system-level testing, troubleshooting, returned-product analysis, installation, or service is desired.
  • Experience with process validation, equipment qualification, test-method validation, measurement-system analysis, statistical process control, process capability analysis, or design of experiments is desired.
  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer, Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt, or ISO 13485 or ISO 9001 audit certification or training is preferred.
