Senior Backend Engineer – India Remote
Build cloud infrastructure, backend APIs, and AI workflows for Sentient Foundation’s open-source AGI platform. Develop agent frameworks and multi-agent systems supporting generative AI products.
Description
- Build and maintain fault-tolerant core infrastructure for the Sentient platform
- Lead the architecture and operation of performance-critical backend services across AWS and GCP
- Develop serverless systems while improving the efficiency of cloud resource usage
- Create and support REST and WebSocket APIs for AI applications
- Partner with cross-functional teams to scope, design, and deliver product capabilities
- Build secure, dependable AI workflows spanning generative AI fine-tuning and inference pipelines
- Create custom AI agent frameworks and multi-agent systems from the ground up
- Manage testing and releases across development, UAT, and production environments
- Protect deployed services with IAM, security groups, encryption, and related controls
- Produce thorough documentation that supports reproducibility and transparency
Requirements
- At least five years of hands-on experience building large applications and designing infrastructure end to end
- Advanced proficiency in Python
- Deep experience with AWS and GCP services, including compute, networking, storage, databases, containers, serverless platforms, API gateways, and cloud monitoring and audit tools
- Strong knowledge of Docker-based containerization and Kubernetes orchestration, including EKS and GKE
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, CDK, and Cloud Deployment Manager
- Working knowledge of generative AI, large language models, datasets, fine-tuning, and inference
- A practical problem-solving approach suited to ambiguity and a fast-moving startup environment
- Enthusiasm for creating ambitious AI products
