Description

  • Build and maintain robust, scalable, high-performance object-oriented backend services
  • Develop public REST APIs in Java and internal APIs with gRPC
  • Design and deliver next-generation agentic AI platforms
  • Create autonomous AI agents, agent skills, MCP servers, and AI tools
  • Scale multi-agent architectures supporting payments and fleet ecosystems
  • Develop system designs, make architectural decisions, and align with senior engineers
  • Create unit, integration, end-to-end, concurrency, load, and performance tests
  • Identify bottlenecks and technical debt, then improve system scalability and stability
  • Automate testing, monitoring, self-healing, scaling, continuous integration, and deployment
  • Partner with product managers, designers, and engineers to define and deliver features
  • Review code, mentor engineers, and advance engineering standards
  • Investigate complex issues, document root causes, and protect performance and reliability
  • Assess competing technologies and recommend appropriate solutions
  • Maintain design documentation, runbooks, change records, and readiness plans
  • Support production systems, monitor services, resolve incidents, and drive operational improvements
  • Own cross-team initiatives as a single-threaded owner or technical lead
  • Develop LLM-powered services with technologies including OpenAI APIs and LangChain
  • Implement AI evaluation, observability, guardrails, context management, memory, and retrieval-augmented generation

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or software engineering
  • Five to eight years of professional software engineering experience
  • Strong command of data structures, algorithms, object-oriented design, and problem-solving
  • Expertise designing and developing internet-scale services with attention to scalability, availability, security, and reliability
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a collaborative and empathetic working style
  • Proficiency with backend development using Java or C#, Spring Boot, REST APIs, the ODATA framework, and SQL
  • Practical experience building or contributing to AI/LLM-powered applications or agent-based systems
  • Familiarity with agent frameworks, tool-use patterns, and LLM workflow orchestration
  • Experience connecting AI systems to external tools and APIs through MCP or comparable protocols
  • Understanding of prompt engineering, embeddings, and vector-based retrieval
  • Experience designing production systems that scale AI workloads
  • Preferred: master’s degree in computer science or software engineering
  • Preferred: eight or more years of software engineering experience
  • Preferred: experience with Python, Java, event-driven architecture, and Kafka
  • Preferred: card payments experience
  • Preferred: cloud-native architecture, Docker, and Kubernetes
  • Preferred: API security and PCI DSS compliance
  • Ability to improve an existing codebase while working within legacy-system constraints
  • Preferred: AI skills and experience delivering production AI solutions
  • Preferred: experience developing production-grade AI agents or copilots
  • Preferred: experience with multi-agent systems and distributed AI architectures
  • Preferred: familiarity with vector databases such as Pinecone, Weaviate, OpenSearch, or Milvus
  • Preferred: knowledge of AI evaluation methods, safety practices, and responsible AI principles
