Remote Insurance Claims Advisor

Handle property and auto insurance claims for Desjardins, from damage investigations through settlement decisions. Work with clients, members, third parties, and providers to resolve claims and negotiate agreements.

Description

  • Manage relationships with members and clients throughout the claims process.
  • Handle straightforward property claims and all types of auto insurance claims.
  • Investigate and approve claims in line with company standards and policies.
  • Apply sound judgment to resolve problems and identify solutions.
  • Negotiate settlements and agreements with members, clients, third parties, and others.
  • Support members, clients, and practitioners.
  • Assess damage, estimate repair costs and market value, review documentation, and determine settlement amounts.
  • Settle claims according to company standards, policies, quality commitments, and contract terms.
  • Coordinate with all parties involved in a claim.
  • Negotiate agreements with service providers.

Requirements

  • Hold a college diploma in a related field.
  • Have at least two years of relevant experience.
  • Other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered.
  • Fluency in French is required.
  • Be action-oriented.
  • Communicate effectively.
  • Demonstrate a customer focus.
  • Exercise sound judgment in decision-making.
  • Build effective interpersonal relationships.
  • Learn quickly and adapt.
  • Be comfortable with technology.
