Remote Configuration Management and Technical Documentation Specialist

Support PingWind’s federal government client with configuration management and technical documentation. Maintain controlled technical information, CMDB records, change processes, and project documentation.

Description

  • Deliver configuration management, change management, and technical documentation support for a large federal government client.
  • Keep technical information accurate, controlled, and traceable throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Identify, control, document, audit, and report configuration item status.
  • Maintain records covering hardware, software, system configurations, documentation, and project deliverables.
  • Create and revise technical processes, configuration standards, baselines, and procedures.
  • Support change-control activities and preserve related documentation and traceability.
  • Maintain centralized CMDB data in alignment with ITSM practices.
  • Coordinate configuration management work across technical and project teams.
  • Review documentation and perform quality checks to ensure technical artifacts are accurate.
  • Travel may be required for stakeholder meetings, training, presentations, or briefings.

Requirements

  • Ability to obtain and retain the required VA background investigation, suitability determination, and system access.
  • At least one IAT III, IAM III, or IASAE III certification.
  • Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in an IT-related discipline such as Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Assurance, Information Security, or Information Resource Management.
  • An IAT III, IAM III, or IASAE III certification may replace a relevant Bachelor’s degree, as may four years of relevant experience.
  • At least five years of IT experience.
  • At least three years of configuration management or technical editing experience with a large corporation or government agency comparable in size and scope to the GSA, IRS, DoD, or VA.
  • A related IT master’s degree may replace up to two years of required experience.
  • Expertise in project management or experience working in a project-based environment.
  • Understanding of configuration management’s role across the project lifecycle.
  • Experience with configuration or change management and technical documentation in IT or software development environments.
  • Experience applying ITSM practices and managing centralized CMDBs.
  • Preferred: Technical documentation experience with the VA or another federal organization.
  • Preferred: ITIL certification.
  • Preferred: Experience using automated configuration or compliance tracking tools.
