Quantitative Finance Analyst

Builds models, stress tests, and risk systems supporting Bank of America’s market and counterparty risk operations. Contributes to regulatory reporting and model validation.

Description

  • Lead quantitative analysis and modeling projects for assigned business units or risk areas.
  • Develop models, analytical processes, and systems approaches.
  • Prepare technical documentation for related work.
  • Partner with Technology teams to design systems that run developed models.
  • Manage market risk stress testing from scenario design and implementation through results analysis, consolidation, and internal and external reporting.
  • Help prioritize quantitative work in line with the bank’s overall strategy.
  • Find opportunities to improve model development and validation by reviewing approval decisions, documentation feedback, and project challenges.
  • Support model development and model risk management in areas aligned with business needs and enterprise risk appetite.
  • Offer methodological, analytical, and technical guidance to challenge development and validation work and surface potential risks.
  • Share submission and validation outcomes with model stakeholders and senior management.
  • Analyze large datasets statistically and interpret findings using qualitative and quantitative methods.
  • Provide subject matter expertise to Strategic Risk Initiatives, Risk Management, GRA, regulators, Audit, MRM, QSG, and MRT/FO technology.
  • Support requirements gathering, system design, and adoption testing.
  • Design strategic systems for Full Revaluation Risk, Reference Data, and Market Data.
  • Help implement firm-wide initiatives across Market Risk and Counterparty Risk.
  • Maintain and update existing risk systems.
  • Support new regulatory requirements and improve handoff processes to production teams.
  • Provide Market Risk model and systems support to Risk Managers, GRA, and external teams.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in a related field or equivalent professional experience.
  • Two to three years of experience in Risk, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Physics, or another quantitative field.
  • Demonstrated experience in a related quantitative role.
  • Experience scripting with Python, Excel, and SQL.
  • Strong technical documentation skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of financial markets and risk management.
  • Broad understanding of financial markets and products.
  • Availability for a 40-hour work week.
  • Must work within the United States shift and time framework.
