Part-Time Inpatient Dietitian – Dublin, Ohio (On-site)

Part-time inpatient dietitian role supporting nutrition assessment, therapy, counseling, and care planning at Dublin Methodist and Grady Memorial hospitals. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on patient education, quality improvement, and clinical nutrition services.

Description

  • Apply evidence-based nutrition care to assess patient risk, reassess nutritional status, and determine care needs
  • Develop parenteral and enteral nutrition regimens
  • Design and implement nutrition protocols
  • Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and committee work
  • Counsel patients and families on nutrition
  • Collaborate in multidisciplinary discussions, rounds, care planning, and education
  • Complete nutrition assessments using age-appropriate standards, validated tools, and nutrition-focused physical examinations
  • Accurately record nutrition diagnoses and patient care in the electronic medical record
  • Create, implement, monitor, and adjust nutrition care plans according to physician orders, age, and disease-specific requirements
  • Coordinate nutrition therapy with physicians and other healthcare professionals
  • Educate patients, families, caregivers, interdisciplinary staff, students, and interns
  • Contribute to quality improvement, research, outcome studies, waste reduction, and service enhancements
  • Assess clinical nutrition products and equipment
  • Follow regulatory requirements, HIPAA, confidentiality, and patient rights policies
  • Attend departmental meetings and participate in team development, professional programs, multidisciplinary groups, and committees
  • Review research and practice guidance and update clinical practice when appropriate
  • Devote 80% of time to direct patient care and 20% to indirect patient care
  • Complete other assigned duties

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • At least one year of experience required
  • Registered, licensed dietitian with at least two years of acute care experience required
  • Earn the Registered Dietitian credential within six months of hire
  • Obtain a limited permit if the Registered Dietitian credential is not held at the time of hire
  • Demonstrated time management, organization, initiative, and teamwork skills
  • Strong analytical, communication, and documentation abilities
  • Communicate effectively in English in person, in writing, and by telephone, using language services when needed
  • Demonstrate critical thinking, independent work, basic mathematics and statistics, multitasking, written composition, accuracy, attention to detail, planning, problem solving, analysis, presentation, and organizational skills
  • Analyze and interpret data, processes, and needs using limited information
  • Calculate calorie, protein, body mass index, and enteral or parenteral formulation requirements
  • Hold Ohio Board of Dietetics licensure
  • Hold the Registered Dietitian credential from the Commission on Dietetic Registration
