Mid-Senior Java Software Engineer in Belfast (Hybrid)

Build secure compliance, supervision, and surveillance technology for TD Securities using Java and cloud-native architecture. Design scalable solutions that support regulatory controls and global markets.

Description

  • Deliver strategic technology initiatives for Compliance and Supervision.
  • Design, develop, deliver, and operationally support technology solutions.
  • Create systems for regulatory compliance, surveillance, supervision, and control oversight.
  • Collaborate with product, architecture, infrastructure, security, vendors, Compliance, Risk, Data, and business stakeholders.
  • Develop and support API-first, event-driven, microservices, and cloud-native architectures.
  • Integrate vendor platforms, proprietary applications, and enterprise data services.
  • Help create scalable, resilient, maintainable, and secure solution designs.
  • Work within Agile delivery practices and continuous delivery methods.
  • Build auditability, traceability, entitlement controls, evidence capabilities, and monitoring into system designs.
  • Support internal audits, regulatory reviews, remediation initiatives, and control assessments.

Requirements

  • Strong practical Java development experience; JDK 17 or later is preferred.
  • Experience building REST or GraphQL APIs with Spring Boot or a comparable framework.
  • Strong SQL skills with experience using an RDBMS.
  • Professional experience with Kafka or comparable messaging technologies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with careful attention to detail.
  • Agile delivery experience involving backlog execution, dependency management, continuous improvement, and outcome delivery.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with varied stakeholders.
  • Ability to work across different time zones and locations.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • At least a bachelor's degree in computer science or a related discipline.
  • Relevant experience in technology delivery and software engineering.
