Lead Data Architect – ProMach (United States Remote)
Lead the design of Databricks-based enterprise data platforms supporting ProMach’s packaging automation business. Drive integrations, migrations, data modeling, and scalable ETL/ELT development.
Description
- Design and deliver scalable data architectures spanning hybrid cloud and on-premises environments
- Integrate ERP platforms such as SAP, Oracle, and SyteLine with CRM systems including Salesforce
- Build and optimize scalable ETL/ELT pipelines with distributed processing and orchestration technologies
- Direct large-scale data migrations while protecting data integrity, lineage, and business continuity
- Create and maintain logical and physical models for transactional and analytical workloads
- Partner with data engineers and analysts to deploy and improve data solutions
- Optimize workflow and storage performance, scalability, and reliability through indexing, partitioning, and caching
- Advance data quality, governance, and metadata practices across reporting and analytics environments
- Provide technical direction and mentorship to data engineering teams
- Promote modern data engineering practices and tooling
- Evaluate emerging data architecture technologies to support innovation and modernization
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or a related discipline
- At least seven years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, or a comparable field
- Practical Databricks experience, including data pipeline development, Delta Lake, and Spark-based transformations
- Proficiency in relational database development, including T-SQL, schema design, and indexing, with SQL Server or PostgreSQL
- Extensive experience integrating and modeling ERP and CRM data from SAP, Oracle, SyteLine, and Salesforce
- Proficiency in SQL and Python for transformation, analysis, and automation
- Experience developing resilient ETL/ELT workflows and supporting large-scale data migrations
- Working knowledge of data governance, metadata management, and data security practices
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with technical and business audiences
- Databricks Unity Catalog or another enterprise data cataloging platform is preferred
- Knowledge of real-time processing and streaming architectures is preferred
- Power BI or Tableau experience is preferred
- Familiarity with manufacturing, financial, and supply chain data domains is preferred
- Experience applying CI/CD, infrastructure automation, and DevOps to data solutions is preferred
- Role involves minimal reaching, lifting, and walking
- Regular computer, telephone, typing, and speaking activities are required
- Must be authorized to work in the United States; ProMach uses E-Verify for new hires
