Junior Systems Engineer – Venlo, Netherlands (Onsite)

Support ERP, datacenter, network, and print-production systems as a Junior Systems Engineer at VistaPrint. Help maintain Venlo manufacturing operations through incident resolution, automation, and continuous improvement.

Description

  • Represent IT in projects introducing new products and workflows
  • Embed standard IT procedures and documentation into cross-functional initiatives
  • Configure and optimize ERP and supporting platforms, including Viper, Webshell, AWS, networking, and storage
  • Improve order flows across operational and supply-chain processes
  • Perform root cause analysis for operational IT incidents
  • Develop lasting technical solutions and escalate complex matters to Senior Engineers or Management
  • Maintain and monitor onsite IT facilities, datacenter hardware, server environments, display systems, and SAN/NAS storage
  • Support digital file conversion, file transfer, ganging, and scheduling automation for print production
  • Provide tier-2 office and operational IT support to plant personnel
  • Take part in a scheduled 24/7 on-call support rotation
  • Find opportunities to simplify IT configurations and automate recurring operational tasks with scripting
  • Create and maintain standardized process documentation

Requirements

  • At least one year of experience in IT support, systems engineering, or junior infrastructure administration, ideally in manufacturing or logistics, or equivalent practical experience
  • Practical knowledge of network protocols, server administration, AWS and other cloud concepts, and hardware and storage maintenance
  • Working familiarity with pre-press operations, digital printing technologies, or ERP workflow integrations
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve technical problems through structured root cause analysis
  • Fluent spoken and written English communication skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience
  • Foundational scripting knowledge in Python, PowerShell, or Bash for operational automation
  • Basic understanding of wireless network architecture, security controls, and enterprise monitoring tools
  • Experience with agile ways of working or collaboration across global teams and time zones
