Description

  • Develop physical and fantastical simulations across a varied range of effects work
  • Support advertising, long-form, and real-time VFX productions
  • Match each effect to the established visual language of the project
  • Design scalable FX workflows that can be used effectively by the wider team
  • Test and refine concepts rapidly and efficiently
  • Build Houdini effects using fluid, POP, pyro, bullet, and destruction simulations
  • Handle shading, lighting, and rendering in Mantra or Arnold
  • Prepare rendered FX passes for compositing
  • Develop production setups and tools for shared team use
  • Coordinate with other departments to complete shots to a high standard
  • Participate in discussions about Houdini FX pipelines and tool development
  • Exchange creative ideas and contribute constructively with colleagues

Requirements

  • At least five years of professional FX artist experience in visual effects
  • Hands-on Houdini experience with fluid, POP particle, pyro, bullet, and destruction simulations
  • Solid grasp of vector and matrix operations
  • Ability to balance visual quality with technical precision
  • Experience shading, lighting, and rendering in Mantra or Arnold
  • Track record of building scalable FX setups and tools for team production
  • Capacity to collaborate across departments and deliver polished shots
  • Willingness to contribute to Houdini FX pipeline and tooling conversations
  • Clear, professional communication skills
  • Strong time-management skills, including prioritization across multiple tasks
  • Ability to apply direction and respond productively to feedback
  • Python and VEX knowledge is desirable
  • PDG experience is desirable
