Full Stack Software Engineer - Porto (Hybrid)

Description
- Develop and maintain backend services and APIs with Java/Kotlin and Spring Boot or Node.js and TypeScript
- Create React and TypeScript web applications using shared components and the company design system
- Design data models and work with relational SQL and NoSQL databases
- Connect services through REST APIs and messaging platforms including Kafka, NATS, and RabbitMQ
- Containerise and deploy applications with Docker and Kubernetes
- Support the development and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines
- Create automated tests across the stack and contribute to code reviews
- Apply AI coding assistants responsibly while safeguarding code quality, security, and maintainability
- Monitor and enhance production features for quality, performance, and security
- Partner with colleagues and cross-functional teams on technical decisions and knowledge sharing
- Contribute across APIs, data, and user interfaces within an agile team working with product, UX, and platform engineers
Requirements
- Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience
- At least three years of professional full-stack development experience
- Strong backend development skills with Java or Kotlin and Spring Boot, or Node.js and TypeScript
- Strong experience building applications with React and TypeScript
- Good knowledge of RESTful API design and web application architecture
- Experience with PostgreSQL or other relational databases, as well as NoSQL databases
- Familiarity with Kafka, NATS, or RabbitMQ is advantageous
- Practical Docker experience; Kubernetes experience is advantageous
- Strong testing practices and familiarity with CI/CD workflows
- Practical experience with AI coding tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or Cursor, including reviewing and testing generated code
- Experience contributing within agile teams
- Fluent spoken and written English
