Financial Partnerships Operations Manager, EMEA — Vilnius (Hybrid)

Manage banking-partner operations for Airwallex across EMEA, supporting market expansion through stronger processes, governance, reporting, and cross-functional delivery.

Description

  • Oversee daily operations for Airwallex’s Financial Partnerships team across EMEA
  • Maintain relationships with banking partners and other financial institutions as the business enters new markets
  • Coordinate projects covering partner requirements, due diligence, regulatory and scheme changes, operational requests, and cross-functional implementations
  • Develop scalable processes, governance frameworks, reporting, and performance dashboards
  • Give senior stakeholders clear visibility into partner health, operational risks, and delivery progress
  • Work with Product, Engineering, Treasury, Risk, Legal, Compliance, Finance, Commercial, and Operations teams to deliver changes and resolve dependencies
  • Triage partner escalations and operational requests, directing issues to the appropriate teams for effective resolution
  • Update senior stakeholders and external partners on implementation progress, operational risks, and areas for improvement
  • Collaborate with colleagues across countries and time zones, with occasional flexibility in working hours

Requirements

  • Project management experience coordinating complex workstreams, dependencies, deadlines, and escalations
  • At least five years of experience in financial services, fintech, payments, banking operations, strategy, business operations, partnerships, consulting, or a related field
  • Experience improving processes, policies, products, or operational workflows
  • Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Strong analytical ability and proficiency with Excel, Google Sheets, Looker, or comparable reporting and analysis tools
  • Ability to apply critical and creative thinking while balancing growth, customer experience, operational effectiveness, and risk
  • Experience working with stakeholders across functions, regions, cultures, and levels of seniority
  • Ability to work independently in a rapidly changing environment
  • Experience in compliance or regulatory compliance is preferred
  • Experience working directly with banking partners, sponsor banks, payment processors, card schemes, payment service providers, local payment methods, or regulated financial institutions is preferred
  • Familiarity with payment flows, acquiring or issuing, network rules, scheme mandates, KYC or KYB, due diligence, or technical integration processes is preferred
  • Experience building scalable operating mechanisms, such as governance forums, partner scorecards, dashboards, QBRs, intake processes, or global playbooks, is preferred
  • Experience coordinating cross-functional implementations with Product, Engineering, Treasury, Risk, Legal, Financial Crime Compliance, Finance, Commercial, and Operations teams is preferred
  • Experience identifying ways to automate manual processes, improve partner economics, reduce operational risk, or increase execution speed and quality is preferred
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills
