Description

  • Build and maintain backend services, APIs and core functionality in Elixir and Phoenix.
  • Move business logic from legacy Node.js services into the core platform.
  • Turn requirements and trade-offs into complex work that can be delivered in independent steps.
  • Make architectural decisions and document them.
  • Improve existing code and address performance and reliability issues.
  • Test critical paths, edge cases and service interactions before handing work to QA.
  • Use monitoring data to validate releases.
  • Lead code reviews and mentor fellow developers.
  • Set standards for coding, testing and documentation.
  • Improve development tools, CI/CD and engineering practices.
  • Manage dependencies, flag risks early and communicate changes to scope or estimates.
  • Take ownership of code delivery and related technical decisions.
  • Develop and maintain the Elixir/Phoenix e-commerce platform for orders, checkout, billing and subscriptions.
  • Work with PostgreSQL, AWS, Node.js, React, Next.js, TypeScript, payment integrations and monitoring systems.

Requirements

  • Bring at least five years of relevant technical experience.
  • Have strong Elixir/Phoenix experience or senior-level experience with a language or framework based on similar principles.
  • Have experience with functional programming, concurrency and message-based systems.
  • Have built reliable systems that handle high volumes of concurrent requests.
  • Bring strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
  • Have experience with REST APIs, automated testing and CI/CD.
  • Work independently, explain technical trade-offs and shape incomplete requirements into a clear delivery plan.
  • For Elixir/Phoenix candidates, know OTP, GenServers, Supervisors, LiveView, Ecto and BEAM.
  • Live in Germany.
  • Hold a valid German work permit.
  • PostgreSQL, Docker, Kubernetes and monitoring tools experience is a plus.
  • Full-stack experience with React, Next.js and TypeScript is a plus.
  • Use AI tools and agentic development pipelines in active development work.
  • Be able to work in English, the company language.
