Finance Manager - London Hybrid

Lead month-end close, financial reporting, controls and statutory accounting for The Law Debenture Group’s professional services business. This London-based hybrid role covers audits, VAT, budgeting and business partnering.

Description

  • Own Sage Intacct month-end close and associated reporting for the assigned business line’s entities
  • Prepare accurate and timely monthly management accounts
  • Enhance general ledger data to support automated, system-generated reporting
  • Evaluate downstream operational processes and implement scalable, resilient improvements
  • Review key controls, validate profit and loss balances, and complete balance sheet reconciliations
  • Coordinate between the Manchester-based shared service centre and London business stakeholders
  • Support IFRS 15 revenue accounting reviews and improve management information
  • Help develop and implement the Group Financial Controls Framework, with emphasis on process integrity
  • Prepare and review annual financial statements for business line entities
  • Support quarterly VAT reconciliations and submissions
  • Prepare allocated sections of Group reporting for half-year and year-end processes
  • Manage the day-to-day relationship with the Big Four external auditor for subsidiary financial statements
  • Support annual budgeting through close partnership with the professional services team
  • Help build consistent, efficient and effective processes across the Finance team
  • Attend required meetings, support the Law Debenture culture, follow applicable regulations, and complete other duties assigned by senior management

Requirements

  • A minimum 2:1 university degree
  • A Top 15 professional accounting qualification, preferably ACA or ACCA
  • At least two years of post-qualified experience
  • Professional experience in an industry finance role
  • Experience handling complex external Big Four audits
  • Exceptional attention to detail, numerical ability and data-handling skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Confidence using business technology and financial systems
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Familiarity with Sage Intacct is advantageous
  • An inquisitive, independent approach with proactive problem-solving skills
  • Confidence to question established ways of working
