EY Senior Backend Engineer - Onsite

Build secure Java services, APIs, and integrations for EY’s financial services clients. Support enterprise solutions across design, delivery, testing, and production operations.

Description

  • Develop server-side services, APIs, and data integrations for financial services clients
  • Convert business and technical requirements into secure services
  • Connect new interfaces with existing systems
  • Manage assigned workstreams independently from design through production support, including production triage
  • Follow standards for code quality, security, testing, and automation
  • Design, configure, build, test, analyze, deliver, and support technology solutions
  • Work closely with product, engineering, testing, and operations teams
  • Provide mentorship to less-experienced team members when appropriate
  • Deliver reliable enterprise solutions for complex business challenges

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience
  • At least three years of relevant enterprise application development experience
  • Practical experience building Java server-side applications and RESTful APIs with Spring and Spring Boot
  • Knowledge of microservices architecture and API design principles
  • Experience with SQL and relational databases, plus familiarity with NoSQL systems such as MongoDB or Cassandra
  • Knowledge of messaging platforms including Kafka, JMS, or RabbitMQ
  • Strong grounding in data structures, algorithms, and software design
  • Experience working with JSON, XML, REST, SOAP, and web services
  • Experience with Jenkins, Git, CI/CD practices, and testing tools such as JUnit and Mockito
  • Experience with cloud development and production triage
  • Ability to work in Agile environments with business and technical stakeholders
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 30% of the time
  • Self-directed, quick to learn, and grounded in strong computer science fundamentals
