ELA Content Coach - Florida Hybrid

Support English Language Arts teachers in grades 3–10 at a tuition-free online public school in Florida. Guide curriculum pacing, standards alignment, and student achievement analysis.

Description

  • Support ELA teachers in grades 3–10 with subject-specific guidance
  • Help implement standards-aligned curricula, pacing guides, and instructional resources
  • Track pacing and priority-standard coverage across the academic year
  • Record standards that are introduced, taught, assessed, mastered, or need reinforcement
  • Help teachers interpret ELA standards and clarify expected student knowledge and skills
  • Evaluate curriculum maps, pacing guides, lesson plans, and instructional materials for standards alignment
  • Analyze achievement and standards-mastery data to identify strengths, gaps, and instructional priorities
  • Work with teachers to revise pacing and instructional priorities in response to student performance
  • Promote vertical alignment of reading, writing, language, vocabulary, and literacy skills across grades 3–10
  • Review classroom, benchmark, diagnostic, and state-assessment results
  • Lead ELA-focused planning sessions and data conversations
  • Suggest curriculum and supplemental resources that address ELA standards and student needs
  • Partner with Instructional Coaches, teachers, and school leaders
  • Document pacing, standards coverage, student mastery, and instructional needs
  • Stay informed about state standards, curriculum expectations, assessment requirements, and ELA practices
  • Attend in-person state testing and student events several times each year

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Education preferred
  • At least five years of education experience, including demonstrated English Language Arts expertise
  • Strong knowledge of ELA standards, curriculum, pacing, and assessment for grades 3–10
  • Thorough understanding of standards-based instruction and literacy skill progression across grade levels
  • Experience creating, implementing, or monitoring curriculum maps and pacing guides preferred
  • Experience interpreting standards-level achievement data and defining instructional priorities
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal abilities
  • Able to work with teachers to identify content gaps and create practical response plans
  • Comfortable using curriculum platforms, student information systems, spreadsheets, and virtual learning tools
  • Commitment to standards mastery, continuous improvement, and student achievement
  • Must reside in Florida
