Early-Career Data Scientist, Predictive Analytics (Remote) - JANSON

Join JANSON’s Army logistics work as an early-career Data Scientist using predictive modeling, Python, SQL, and Palantir Foundry. Help maintain analytics products and develop emerging AI capabilities.

Description

  • Help senior team members build, test, document, and improve predictive models for equipment readiness, lead-time forecasting, and inventory planning
  • Prepare, validate, organize, and investigate structured and unstructured data
  • Contribute to feature engineering and recurring data-quality reviews
  • Use Palantir Foundry and related tools to build data pipelines, analyses, dashboards, and reusable analytics products
  • Conduct approved experiments, evaluate model results, record findings, and flag issues for senior technical staff
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, job aids, user guides, and training materials
  • Update, test, version, and maintain existing analytics products
  • Take part in technical reviews, working sessions, and customer conversations
  • Report project progress, questions, and risks to the broader team
  • Help advance Army logistics through predictive analytics, data science, and emerging artificial intelligence capabilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in data science, data analytics, statistics, computer science, operations research, mathematics, engineering, or a related quantitative discipline
  • 0–3 years of relevant experience, including qualifying internships, academic research, capstone projects, laboratory work, teaching assistance, military service, or applied project work
  • Basic knowledge of statistics, supervised learning, model assessment, and standard predictive analytics processes
  • Practical Python and SQL skills, including familiarity with libraries such as Pandas and Scikit-learn
  • Active Secret clearance, or eligibility and ability to obtain and retain one
  • Capacity to assess defined problems, follow technical direction, resolve routine issues, and seek clarification when needed
  • Ability to document work accurately and present analytical conclusions to technical and nontechnical audiences
  • Familiarity with Palantir Foundry or another enterprise data, cloud, or analytics platform is preferred
  • Exposure to Army logistics, GCSS-Army, FED LOG, or government data settings is preferred
  • Experience developing dashboards, reports, or visualizations with Tableau, Power BI, Python libraries, or integrated platform tools is preferred
  • Academic, project, or practical familiarity with Generative AI, large language models, or agent-based workflows is preferred
  • Foundational Python and SQL proficiency, along with the willingness to learn additional tools, platforms, and techniques
  • Ability to clearly summarize data, methods, assumptions, and findings
  • Ability to follow established procedures, keep accurate records, and complete assigned work with suitable review
  • Willingness to travel up to 20%
  • Ability to collaborate across disciplines, accept feedback, and help develop solutions that combine human expertise with machine intelligence
