DevOps Operations Manager – Hybrid in Cork, Ireland

Lead Everseen’s distributed DevOps Operations function supporting cloud and edge platforms for a global vision AI solution. Build capable teams, strengthen automation, and drive dependable incident and change resolution at scale.

Description

  • Lead and develop a distributed, follow-the-sun DevOps Operations team
  • Own L3 support for edge, on-premises, and cloud platforms
  • Define processes, standards, and capabilities for rapid, high-quality L3 resolution
  • Build effective daily collaboration between Operations and DevOps Engineering
  • Coordinate consistent incident and change management across time zones
  • Provide rapid, regionally aligned L3 support for DevOps incidents and changes
  • Improve handoffs between DevOps and Operations
  • Provide Operations with tools and automation that increase L1 and L2 resolution capacity
  • Diagnose and resolve product and platform issues
  • Work with DevOps Engineering to automate and improve workflows and processes
  • Oversee the team’s daily operations and project delivery
  • Own team projects and serve as an escalation point
  • Set strategic objectives with senior leadership and track performance
  • Plan training, workshops, and knowledge-sharing activities
  • Create and maintain standard operating procedures
  • Contribute to technical architecture and system design
  • Assess system and integration requirements
  • Offer technical direction and leadership to support teams
  • Create knowledge-base content and promote internal knowledge sharing
  • Partner with Operations, Cloud and Edge DevOps, Security, development, and QA teams
  • Work occasional non-standard hours and support customers in international locations

Requirements

  • At least three years of experience as a DevOps Manager, plus prior experience as a DevOps or Automation Engineer, Linux Administrator, or equivalent combination
  • Experience forming new teams and establishing operational processes and procedures
  • Working knowledge of local and distributed filesystems, storage migration, SSH tunneling, SCP, SFTP, web servers, reverse proxies, and troubleshooting
  • Foundational knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes or OpenShift, and virtualization technologies
  • Experience using Ansible, Ansible Tower, or comparable configuration-management tools
  • Experience with Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or equivalent continuous integration and delivery tools
  • Experience implementing Infrastructure as Code with Terraform or a comparable solution
  • Familiarity with Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform
  • Experience using Git for system version control
  • Foundational understanding of backup solutions
  • Experience using Bash and Python for automation and development
  • Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Node Exporter, Prometheus, Grafana, Fluentd, or Logstash
  • Foundational knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases, including hands-on query writing
  • Practical experience working with JSON and REST API calls
  • Broad knowledge of software engineering principles, architecture, programming languages, frameworks, and industry developments, especially in AI
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent presentation, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Fluent business English
