Data Engineer – Poland (Remote)

Build and support secure Snowflake, Power BI, and cloud data solutions for Cencora’s healthcare operations. The role covers pipeline engineering, legacy integrations, and analytics platforms.

Description

  • Create, operate, and support scalable, secure data pipelines and integrations across the organisation’s data environment.
  • Develop and manage data models, ETL/ELT pipelines, and analytics solutions with Azure Synapse Analytics, Snowflake, Power BI, and related tools.
  • Take ownership of solution quality, performance, maintenance, and support, including legacy data integrations.
  • Promote responsible use of AI-assisted tools such as GitHub Copilot and Claude to improve delivery speed, quality, and efficiency.
  • Work with Development, Cloud, and Security Engineering teams to deliver dependable, secure data solutions.
  • Investigate and resolve complex data-quality, performance, and integration problems across current and legacy platforms.
  • Support existing legacy integrations and identify appropriate opportunities for modernisation.
  • Create and maintain Power BI dashboards, reports, and self-service analytics for business stakeholders.
  • Convert business data and reporting needs into effective technical solutions.
  • Implement security, governance, privacy, and compliance requirements across data solutions.
  • Help shape data architecture, engineering standards, and recommended practices.
  • Estimate the time and effort required for data-engineering work and projects.
  • Work with Cloud and Development teams to expand data platforms within cloud infrastructure.
  • Complete other reasonable responsibilities that match the role’s capabilities when needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
  • At least five years of experience in data engineering, data warehousing, or business intelligence.
  • Strong practical experience with Snowflake or a comparable cloud data warehouse.
  • Strong practical Power BI experience, including data modelling, DAX, and report or dashboard creation.
  • Experience developing and supporting ETL/ELT pipelines and integrations, including connections to legacy systems.
  • Hands-on experience with AI-assisted tools such as GitHub Copilot and Claude.
  • Advanced SQL capability, with experience in data modelling, dimensional modelling, and star schemas.
  • Experience with Azure, AWS, GCP, or comparable cloud platforms and their native data services.
  • Working knowledge of data governance, data quality, and data security principles.
  • Experience partnering cross-functionally with Development, Cloud, and Security Engineering teams.
  • Experience with Azure Synapse Analytics is desirable.
  • Knowledge of GxP, GCP, and/or TMF is preferred but not required.
  • Strong analytical skills for diagnosing and resolving complex data issues.
  • Clear communication skills, including the ability to explain technical data concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Fluent written and spoken communication skills.
  • Strong working knowledge of data platforms and tooling, particularly Snowflake and Power BI.
  • A bachelor’s degree in computer science, data engineering, information systems, software engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience, is required.
  • At least two years of data-engineering experience covering ingestion, transformation, modelling, and pipeline operations across multiple data sources, or related experience.
  • Cloud fundamentals or data-engineering certifications are preferred.
