Contracts Manager – Vaughan, Canada

Lead national medical-device contracting for Terumo Canada, covering pricing strategy, competitive bids, negotiations, and compliance. Manage contracts teams while strengthening ERP-supported processes, reporting, and operational governance.

Description

  • Direct national and enterprise contract strategy across Terumo Medical Canada business units
  • Own negotiation planning and delivery for major RFQs, RFIs, RFPs, renewals, and pricing agreements
  • Align cross-functional contributions to support competitive positioning
  • Build and maintain contracting frameworks, calendars, pricing governance models, and policy recommendations
  • Work with Legal to review contract terms, evaluate risk, and maintain compliance
  • Oversee rebate and administrative fee programs, including recurring reporting
  • Partner with Sales and Marketing on promotional pricing plans and product initiatives
  • Improve operational systems, processes, policies, management reporting, information flow, and organizational planning
  • Prepare and distribute SOP documentation for the web-based contract management application
  • Define system and reporting metrics and implement modifications that address end-user issues
  • Lead, develop, and coach contracts team members while setting goals and evaluation standards
  • Train and coach team members and internal customers on SOPs, ERP systems, and reporting tools
  • Lead cross-functional efforts to improve contracting processes, tools, and data integrity
  • Comply with established Environmental Health & Safety and Quality System policies, programs, rules, and practices

Requirements

  • Fluent French and English communication skills, including reading, writing, and speaking
  • Strong commercial judgment and analytical capability
  • Ability to build accurate, effective financial models
  • Knowledge of organizational effectiveness and operations management, including best-practice implementation
  • Ability to influence and lead cross-functional teams as an individual contributor
  • Expertise in distribution and sales tracings
  • Confidence consulting with and influencing senior organizational leaders
  • Experience across multiple divisions, including scorecard development and analysis
  • Ability to mentor, coach, and develop direct reports
  • Ability to assess changing markets and align contractual needs with sales and profitability objectives
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills
  • Bachelor’s degree plus at least seven years of contracts management experience in the medical-device or healthcare sector, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • At least two years of management experience
  • At least three years working with ERP packages, EDI, and systems integration, preferably JDE and/or SAP
  • Experience leading major RFPs, national contracts, or enterprise-level negotiations
