Griffin is a UK-authorised bank and Banking-as-a-Service platform for businesses building financial products. Through a purpose-built REST API and developer sandbox, it provides access to embedded bank accounts, payments, safeguarding and client-money accounts, savings, and KYC/Verify functionality. Griffin combines regulated banking infrastructure with developer tools for fintech, payments, payroll, proptech, wealthtech, and other financial-product teams, operating under PRA and FCA oversight.

Compliance Advisory Manager – UK Remote

Lead first-line compliance advisory work for Griffin’s regulated fintech banking platform. Partner with product, sales and operations teams on launches, lifecycle governance and regulatory change.

Description

  • Provide first-line compliance guidance to operations, commercial and product stakeholders
  • Convert regulatory obligations into product requirements, customer journeys, terms and conditions, and fair value assessments
  • Support products through ideation, approval and launch
  • Oversee compliance across the product lifecycle, including fair value assessments, outcome monitoring, reviews, changes and closures
  • Evaluate prospective partners against risk appetite and review sales materials
  • Check Griffin and customer marketing materials against regulatory requirements and internal policies
  • Embed regulatory requirements in day-to-day Service operations, procedures and controls
  • Assess regulatory developments and coordinate their implementation within required timeframes
  • Investigate compliance concerns and oversee remediation
  • Communicate compliance risks and customer outcomes through clear reporting
  • Work with the second-line Protect function, supplying evidence and responding to challenge
  • Lead compliance support for major launches, including card issuing, from concept through go-live

Requirements

  • Experience in first- or second-line compliance within a UK-regulated organisation, preferably a bank, e-money institution or payments firm
  • Working knowledge of Consumer Duty, BCOBS, CASS, FISMA, the Payment Services Regulations and the Money Laundering Regulations
  • Track record of translating regulation into practical requirements for product, sales or operations teams
  • Ability to interpret and apply FCA rules to unfamiliar scenarios
  • Naturally curious and willing to investigate issues
  • Able to challenge decisions clearly while maintaining a constructive and respectful approach
  • Strong written communication skills with a focus on clarity and readability
  • Specialist expertise in at least one area such as payments, cards, Consumer Duty, BCOBS or financial promotions
  • Background in finance or banking is preferred
  • Completion of satisfactory background screening, including right-to-work, criminal record, credit history, social media and professional reference checks
  • Legal right to work in the UK
