Cloud Solutions Architect (Hybrid)
Design and build the first multi-tenant SaaS platform, connecting manufacturing data to secure cloud services and customer reporting.
Description
- Architect a multi-tenant SaaS product spanning customer-site data ingestion, cloud services, and customer-facing reporting
- Build, deploy, and maintain cloud infrastructure and backend services hands-on as the engineering team takes shape
- Create secure, dependable pipelines that move data from on-premises manufacturing environments into the cloud
- Establish approaches for multi-tenancy, customer data isolation, scalability, and security
- Assess cloud platforms and technologies, recommending a cost-conscious path from initial launch to sustainable growth
- Understand the existing on-premises product and apply that knowledge to a streamlined cloud offering
- Produce an initial platform proposal and define the roles needed for the team within the first three months
- Implement CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, and monitoring practices
- Partner with early customers to determine initial product needs
- Contribute directly to hiring decisions and formation of the new product team
Requirements
- At least five years of experience as a cloud or solutions architect
- Demonstrated ability to design and build cloud systems end to end
- Experience working across multiple major cloud platforms, such as Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud
- Background building systems that ingest and process large volumes of operational data
- Extensive experience designing and deploying databases at scale, including schema design, query performance, and storage decisions
- Strong understanding of distributed systems, including data flows, service boundaries, failure modes, and resilience patterns
- Experience connecting cloud platforms with on-premises or operationally constrained environments
- Familiarity with SaaS concepts including multi-tenancy, customer data isolation, and subscription-based delivery
- Experience developing cost analyses and platform recommendations that balance an initial lean launch with future growth
- Experience in industrial, IoT, or manufacturing environments is preferred
- Experience with .NET and SQL Server is preferred
- Experience building or helping establish a new engineering team is preferred
