Description
- Obtain and track prior authorizations for cardiac procedures, diagnostic tests, and medications.
- Work with payer portals and medical directors.
- Manage incoming and outgoing referral workflows.
- Coordinate referrals with physician offices.
- Review clinical records and schedule patient appointments.
- Keep documentation and team communications current in eClinicalWorks, Spruce Health, and TigerConnect.
- Respond to changing priorities by handling calls, supporting patient intake and triage, confirming coverage, and assisting the front desk during busy periods.
- Connect patients, doctors, clinical teams, and hospital systems with clear, proactive communication.
- Follow HIPAA requirements.
Requirements
- At least two years of direct cardiology or cardiac care experience managing procedural authorizations and specialist referrals.
- Practical experience with eClinicalWorks (eCW), Spruce Health, and TigerConnect.
- Fluent in both English and Spanish.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and a personable phone manner.
- Emotional intelligence and resilience for fast-paced clinical operations.
- Able to coordinate across departments with a positive, solutions-focused approach.
- Careful attention to detail.
- Sound knowledge of insurance guidelines.
- A secure, HIPAA-compliant remote work environment.
- Full-time contractor role, 40 hours per week.
- Available Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Eastern Time.
