Auto Claims Representative – Kennesaw, GA (Hybrid)

Auto-Owners Insurance is hiring an entry-level claims representative to investigate, evaluate, negotiate, and resolve property and casualty claims. The role includes structured claims training and service to agents, insureds, claimants, legal counsel, and other parties.

Description

  • Manage entry-level insurance claims under close supervision from investigation through evaluation and resolution
  • Support agents, insureds, and other stakeholders to promote accurate and timely claim outcomes
  • Complete the company’s claims training program for the assigned insurance line
  • Investigate, assess, and settle entry-level insurance claims
  • Review policies, endorsements, and forms to build knowledge of the company’s insurance products
  • Learn and follow established claim-handling procedures
  • Build foundational negotiation and settlement capabilities
  • Develop effective service skills for working with agents, insureds, and other stakeholders
  • Meet and communicate with claimants, legal counsel, and third parties
  • Develop specialized loss-adjustment skills, including estimating and designated computer-based applications

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or directly equivalent experience handling property and casualty claims
  • Ability to organize information, manage multiple tasks, and make independent decisions
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to prepare reports and draft correspondence
  • Ability to resolve complex issues
  • Ability to protect confidential information and maintain data security
  • Ability to work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds
  • Ability to accurately perform mathematical calculations involving geometry, financial sums, unit costs, and personal or business finance documents
  • Valid driver’s license, access to an automobile, and a driving record that meets the company’s underwriting guidelines for coverage
  • Commitment to continuing product education through approved learning programs
  • Authorization to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an adjuster’s license when required by applicable law and within company or statutory deadlines
