Associate Engineering Manager - SERB Pharmaceuticals, Wales

Description
- Lead the Engineering Maintenance function at the Wales manufacturing site
- Maintain safe, compliant, and reliable manufacturing equipment, utilities, and infrastructure
- Coordinate daily engineering and maintenance operations
- Plan, prioritise, and deliver maintenance activities through the CMMS
- Drive equipment reliability, asset lifecycle optimisation, and unplanned downtime reduction
- Create and implement maintenance strategies for critical equipment, utilities, and facilities
- Track engineering performance metrics to improve reliability, compliance, and asset utilisation
- Manage spare parts and critical inventory processes
- Lead, coach, mentor, and manage engineering team members
- Conduct performance reviews, development conversations, and competency assessments
- Support workforce, succession, and talent development planning
- Ensure adherence to cGMP, Good Engineering Practice, site procedures, and regulatory requirements
- Support regulatory inspections, customer audits, and internal audits
- Maintain engineering records, SOPs, deviations, risk assessments, change controls, and validation documentation
- Lead or contribute to root cause investigations and develop effective CAPAs
- Protect data integrity across engineering systems and records
- Advance continuous improvement through Lean, Six Sigma, and structured problem-solving methods
- Improve digital maintenance systems, CMMS capabilities, and engineering reporting
- Analyse engineering data to identify trends and inform decisions
- Support departmental goals, resource planning, and strategic programmes
- Deliver assigned engineering projects, equipment upgrades, facility improvements, and process optimisation
- Support the installation, commissioning, qualification, and validation of new equipment and systems
- Manage engineering contractors and external service providers
- Act for the Engineering Manager during periods of absence
- Champion safety, risk assessment, behavioural safety, and incident prevention
- Support sustainability efforts focused on energy reduction, equipment efficiency, and waste minimisation
- Build accountability, continuous learning, collaboration, and operational excellence
