Advanced Hardware Engineer, Flight Recorders – Honeywell Aerospace, Brno Hybrid

Design and qualify flight recorder avionics for Honeywell Aerospace in a hybrid Brno role. Lead electronic hardware development, reliability improvements, and collaboration with suppliers, customers, and engineering teams.

Description

  • Oversee airborne system development.
  • Support next-generation flight recorder development throughout the hardware lifecycle.
  • Define and maintain hardware requirements.
  • Design electronic hardware.
  • Verify hardware requirements.
  • Support qualification and delta-qualification of recorders and accessories, including microphones and cockpit control units.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and customers.
  • Lead electronic hardware changes that lower manufacturing costs and improve product reliability.
  • Work closely with Systems and Software engineering teams.
  • Maintain compliance with applicable processes.
  • Manage engineering reports and performance metrics.
  • Improve processes and maintain technical documentation.
  • Help shape long-term strategies and product roadmaps.
  • Contribute to flight recorder work through EUROCAE ED-112 working groups and ARINC sessions.
  • Coordinate with engineering, business, supplier, customer, and other partner stakeholders.
  • Report to the Senior Engineering Manager.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience in aerospace, automotive, or a comparable industry.
  • Experience designing hardware systems.
  • A proven record in analogue electronics, high-speed digital design, or power-supply engineering.
  • Experience with signal integrity.
  • Experience integrating microcontrollers.
  • Understanding of the electronic hardware development lifecycle, including manufacturing.
  • Strong knowledge of schematics, signal flow, electrical components, root-cause analysis, and technical drawings.
  • English proficiency at B2 level or higher.
  • Able to learn independently and quickly.
  • Collaborative team member with a proactive approach.
