Accounts Payable Specialist – Onsite in Westmont, IL

Process invoices, reconciliations, and vendor payments for Crash Champions’ U.S. collision repair network. Support billing inquiries, payment issue resolution, and month-end close.

Description

  • Review and validate statements while processing them according to payment terms.
  • Reconcile accounts payable activity and track outstanding accounts to keep payments current.
  • Follow internal controls and company policies and procedures.
  • Address vendor issues to support accurate and timely payments.
  • Post invoices, prepare payment journals, schedule payments, import invoices, and clarify remittance statements.
  • Handle billing questions by email and telephone.
  • Investigate and resolve payment discrepancies using available tools.
  • Assist the accounting team and leadership with month-end close and financial reporting.
  • Own issue research and resolution, delivering accurate results promptly.
  • Complete additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • An associate degree in accounting, finance, or a related discipline is preferred.
  • Two to three years of accounts payable or comparable experience is required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including PivotTables and VLOOKUP, is required.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to evaluate financial information.
  • Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Well-developed organizational skills with the ability to prioritize work.
  • Ability to recognize problems and develop practical solutions.
  • Capacity to manage a high-volume workload accurately and on schedule.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently.
  • Sound discretion and independent judgment in decision-making.
  • Positive, mature, energetic approach with the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a large team.
