- Lead and expand the Governance & Access team
- Set the roadmap for governance, identity and access management, roles and permissions, compliance, and related security capabilities
- Determine how these capabilities should support agents operating on Render as well as human users
- Work with dedicated product and design partners to connect the roadmap to customer and platform priorities
- Establish a rigorous hiring and interviewing process as the team grows
- Guide major technical and architectural decisions across access, identity, and governance systems
- Support engineers through coaching, performance management, and career development
- Coordinate with the Security team and the broader Growth and Expansion organization
- Make pragmatic tradeoffs among security, usability, speed, guarantees, and iteration

- Demonstrated ability to lead people effectively
- Comfort navigating ambiguity and adapting as the team’s scope develops
- Experience establishing and scaling a team from an early stage
- History of hiring, managing, and developing engineers, including performance management
- Ability to collaborate closely with product and design partners without taking on their functions
- Experience with security, governance, or access management, such as IAM, RBAC, or compliance is a plus
- Familiarity with products built for AI agents or agentic systems is a plus
- Experience managing senior, IC5-level engineers is a plus
- Background in developer platforms or B2B SaaS products is a plus
- Legal authorization to work in the United States
- New visa sponsorship is generally unavailable; existing visa transfers may be sponsored at Render’s discretion with business authorization
