Vice President of Data Center Development (Remote—Washington)
Lead mission-critical data center development for QTS across Washington, overseeing regional sites, design, construction, budgets, and strategic projects. Guide teams and partnerships from site selection through deployment, delivery, and operational improvements.
Tavsif
- Direct regional development leadership across the QTS footprint
- Evaluate potential sites and recommend selections for future projects
- Lead Basis of Design efforts for data center deployments, construction initiatives, and upgrades
- Manage regional expansion and renovation programs
- Build master development plans with QTS stakeholders, design teams, and construction partners
- Direct site development plans to meet schedule, budget, and quality objectives
- Oversee design, construction, commissioning, procurement, and project cost estimation
- Create product deployment plans and communicate them to QTS teams
- Partner with Sales and Deal teams on new and existing buildouts
- Lead pursuit teams in assessing, developing, and securing profitable opportunities
- Structure cost-efficient, accelerated development deals for hyperscale data centers
- Represent QTS in OAC meetings and protect its project interests
- Develop relationships that strengthen QTS’s position in data center real estate
- Lead, direct, and support direct reports
- Enhance project management processes and protocols with internal teams
Talablar
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, electrical, mechanical, architectural engineering, or a related discipline
- At least 10 years of experience working with mission-critical facilities
- Professional experience in the REIT or data center sector
- Extensive experience managing MEP trades
- Demonstrated leadership, practical engineering expertise, on-time delivery, project management, cost control, and customer satisfaction
- Experience with corporate real estate and taxation
- Background in rapid construction development and deployment
- More than 10 years of mission-critical data center development experience is preferred
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively across organizational levels
- Ability to collaborate successfully within internal and external teams
- Strong planning capabilities and the ability to lead through influence
- Ability to resolve problems at both tactical and functional levels
