Assembler

Tavsif

  • Apply electrical, electronic, and mechanical engineering principles to components and systems
  • Assemble, evaluate, and document engineering results
  • Build developmental assemblies, subassemblies, and components
  • Conduct quality testing
  • Contribute to the design, testing, modification, fabrication, and assembly of prototype electromechanical systems
  • Maintain complex mechanical and electrical machinery designs within U.S. Navy aircraft carrier propulsion plants
  • Support carrier construction, testing, delivery, in-service maintenance, and fleet operations
  • Establish procurement objectives, specifications, and technical requirements
  • Manage supplier activities to verify that products satisfy defined objectives and requirements
  • Confirm technically compliant product delivery in line with ship construction and testing schedules
  • Assist shipyard and Navy personnel operating propulsion plants
  • Coordinate between shipyard and Navy organizations and machinery manufacturers
  • Support ship construction and repair activities
  • Provide advanced troubleshooting direction
  • Recommend design enhancements and improved maintenance practices
  • Work with Navy customers, suppliers, shipyard trades, engineers, project managers, and business professionals
  • Train and mentor junior engineers through formal and informal instruction

Talablar

  • Bachelor’s degree with nine years of relevant exempt experience, or a master’s degree with seven years of relevant professional experience, or a Ph.D. with four years of experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program
  • U.S. citizenship
  • Experience supporting Navy or Department of Defense programs, preferably within the Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program
  • Experience working with NAVSEA, prime contractors, equipment suppliers, shipyard trades, and engineering teams
  • Background providing end-user support and troubleshooting
  • Experience partnering with suppliers on product development and improvement
  • Conceptual understanding of propulsion plant components
  • Basic engineering project management skills
  • Experience leading technical teams of two to four junior engineers
  • Ability to use engineering judgment and critical thinking to solve moderate to complex technical problems
  • Strong technical writing, verbal and written communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills
  • Engineers from ABET-accredited disciplines are encouraged to apply
