VP Principal Data Engineer
Lead the modernization of cloud data platforms and investor reporting systems at LPL Financial. Guide ETL, streaming, and engineering strategy for its wealth management business.
Descriere
- Deliver scalable, high-quality, cost-effective data solutions that support business priorities
- Direct engineering pods from planning through delivery, balancing employee and vendor resources to improve execution and reduce operational risk
- Work with business and technology leaders to set priorities, speed delivery, and raise engineering productivity
- Coach engineers and strengthen engineering quality, innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement
- Design and build cloud-native data platforms for large-scale ingestion, transformation, validation, and distribution
- Build and tune ETL/ELT pipelines with Python, AWS, Snowflake, dbt, Airflow, and related tools
- Create event-driven and real-time data processing solutions with Kafka, EventBridge, SQS, SNS, and related technologies
- Update legacy platforms with secure, resilient, reusable cloud-native architectures and patterns
- Set technical roadmaps, engineering standards, and practices that advance enterprise data capabilities
- Maintain platform reliability, scalability, performance, and compliance with service-level objectives
- Establish data quality, observability, auditing, reconciliation, and monitoring capabilities
- Expand CI/CD, DevOps automation, and operational practices to improve resilience and efficiency
- Lead investigation and resolution of complex production incidents while improving cloud performance and cost control
- Collaborate with architects, product teams, and business stakeholders to deliver modern data products and platform capabilities
- Shape technical strategy, architecture choices, automation, and ongoing innovation across the data ecosystem
Cerințe
- 10+ years designing and developing large-scale ETL/ELT pipelines and data platforms with AWS, Glue, S3, RDS/Aurora, Snowflake, dbt, and Airflow
- 8+ years of hands-on experience building data solutions with Python
- 6+ years building event-driven and streaming architectures with Kafka, EventBridge, SQS, and related technologies
- 6+ years working with relational and NoSQL databases, including performance tuning and optimization
- 6+ years using source control, CI/CD, and DevOps practices with GitHub, TeamCity, Jenkins, Octopus, or similar tools
- Technical leadership and sound architectural decision-making
- Deep knowledge of data engineering, ETL/ELT, and cloud-native platforms
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic planning abilities
- Ability to turn complex business needs into scalable technical solutions
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Demonstrated ability to lead high-performing teams in fast-paced, agile settings
- Preferred: 5+ years in financial services, wealth management, or brokerage organizations
- Experience with AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Copilot Chat, Cursor, or similar tools
- Experience with Terraform, infrastructure automation, and data lake implementations
- AWS Associate-level certification, such as AWS Certified Developer – Associate or AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate
- Experience leading enterprise cloud modernization and data transformation programs
- Experience developing APIs and microservices with .NET technologies
- Familiarity with GitHub Copilot and other AI-assisted development tools
