Descriere

  • Work with Product and Engineering to frame user and business problems, guide product strategy, and define measurable outcomes.
  • Develop expertise in AAC and assistive technology, including users, products, clinical workflows, data, and competitors.
  • Lead discovery with people with communication challenges, care partners, clinicians, customers, and internal experts.
  • Run interviews, observations, co-design sessions, concept evaluations, and usability tests.
  • Turn research, product data, business goals, and technical constraints into actionable insights and recommendations.
  • Translate complex workflows and accessibility needs into user flows, prototypes, interaction models, and refined designs.
  • Create accessible, intuitive, consistent experiences for device, web, and mobile products.
  • Apply AI and data-informed ideas in the design process to create clear, responsible product experiences.
  • Collaborate with engineers during implementation to preserve design intent and quality.
  • Use prototyping, iterative testing, and post-launch learning to assess solutions and reduce risk.
  • Explain design decisions, supporting evidence, value, and tradeoffs.
  • Contribute to shared design systems and practices.
  • Strengthen product thinking, discovery, accessibility, critique, and design craft across the organization.
  • Take on other duties as assigned.

Cerințe

  • At least five years of product design experience, including leading complex digital products from discovery through delivery and iteration.
  • A portfolio that shows strong problem framing, strategic thinking, and design capability.
  • Experience planning and facilitating user research and collaborative discovery sessions.
  • Strong interaction design, information architecture, prototyping, and visual design skills across web, mobile, or device experiences.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity, influence product direction, and work with Product, Engineering, and cross-functional partners.
  • Ability to explain design decisions, challenge assumptions constructively, incorporate feedback, and make considered tradeoffs.
  • Proficiency with Figma or comparable design tools.
  • Strong understanding of accessibility principles and WCAG 2.1 or later.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong time management and attention to detail; able to take initiative, own work, and follow through.
  • Bachelor’s degree in HCI, interaction design, or a related field preferred, or an equivalent mix of education and practical experience.
  • Must be able to work remotely from within the United States.
  • Must be able and willing to travel within the United States, including by air, up to twice per year, with possible additional trips approximately two to four times annually.
  • Reliable, secure internet access.
  • Ability to use a computer, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Familiarity with HTML and CSS preferred.
  • Experience designing inclusive experiences strongly preferred.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
