Infrastructure Support Engineer (Hybrid)

Descriere

  • Act as the initial contact for internal issues involving DevOps infrastructure, tools, and services, resolving problems or routing them to the right team.
  • Operate and maintain systems supporting software development, continuous integration and delivery, testing, security, artifact management, and network or device simulation.
  • Administer user accounts, permissions, and access across development platforms and tools.
  • Track system health, handle alerts, and support maintenance, patching, upgrades, and backups.
  • Develop documentation, runbooks, and knowledge-base content that enable engineers to solve common issues independently.
  • Help product and engineering teams make effective use of DevOps infrastructure self-service features.
  • Coordinate with security, engineering, and operations stakeholders to maintain shared systems.
  • Advance automation and Infrastructure as Code initiatives that reduce manual effort.
  • Install and maintain office hardware, laboratory equipment, servers, and workstations when needed.
  • Build expertise through guidance from senior engineers and continued learning about DevOps tools and practices.
  • Handle tickets and Slack requests involving GitLab, Nexus, and build environments.
  • Support the installation, upgrading, patching, and monitoring of Kubernetes, Git servers, artifact repositories, and hypervisors.
  • Investigate failed builds and deployments while making incremental CI/CD pipeline improvements.
  • Automate recurring support work, including account provisioning, environment resets, and host configuration.

Cerințe

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related discipline; alternatively, 2–4 years of relevant IT support, help desk, systems administration, or DevOps experience may substitute for the degree.
  • Working familiarity with Linux and foundational networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and firewalls.
  • Basic scripting ability with Bash, Python, PowerShell, or a comparable language.
  • Willingness to administer and support applications and systems shared by multiple teams.
  • Patient, service-oriented approach with a genuine interest in helping colleagues.
  • Self-directed, proactive, and curious work style.
  • Strong problem-solving ability.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills for building productive working relationships.
  • Able to work in the CodeMettle office to handle hardware and maintain equipment as needed.
  • U.S. citizenship is required for access to CodeMettle systems.
  • Exposure to development tools and processes involving Go, Java, Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, or Scala, with willingness to work across them.
  • Exposure to Infrastructure as Code using Ansible and Terraform.
  • Exposure to Docker or Kubernetes containers, Git version control, and CI/CD practices.
  • Experience using a ticketing or help desk platform.
  • Able to work in the office at least three days per week under the hybrid schedule.
  • Able to remain at a workstation for extended periods while working at a computer.
  • Able to use a keyboard, mouse, and standard computer equipment with regular repetitive motion.
  • Able to view computer monitors and screens for prolonged periods with suitable visual acuity.
  • Able to occasionally stand, walk, or move around the office to collaborate or access equipment.
  • Able to lift or move small office or technical items, including laptops and servers, weighing approximately 20–25 pounds when required.
  • Able to navigate standard office areas such as meeting rooms, collaboration spaces, and equipment locations.
