Data Engineer
Build data pipelines and platforms that support analytics and reporting across Goodwin’s global law firm operations. Contribute to data governance and modernization.
Descriere
- Build and maintain data pipelines and models with orchestration and transformation tools.
- Transfer and transform data across source systems, warehouses, and analytics platforms.
- Develop and maintain ETL/ELT processes.
- Keep data accurate, timely, and dependable.
- Investigate and resolve data quality problems.
- Work with data engineers and product owners to put data governance practices in place.
- Write testable code with sound error handling, rerunnable jobs, and monitoring.
- Document pipelines, schemas, and operating processes.
- Take part in Agile planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
- Track all code changes in Git.
Cerințe
- A bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related discipline is preferred.
- At least two years of experience in data engineering or a related technical position.
- Strong SQL ability, including joins, aggregations, common table expressions, and window functions.
- Experience using Python for data engineering, scripting, or automation.
- Practical experience with at least one cloud data platform, such as Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery, or Redshift.
- Knowledge of data modeling fundamentals, including fact and dimension tables and schema design.
- Experience with Git or another source control system.
- Strong problem-solving ability and care for data accuracy and detail.
- Able to work independently and collaborate across teams.
- Experience with law firm application databases such as Aderant Expert, Foundation, or iManage is a plus.
- Familiarity with ETL/ELT tools such as dbt, Airflow, or similar transformation and orchestration frameworks.
- Familiarity with applying AI and large language models to data engineering.
